I must say, for a place smaller than any fancy restaurant, Nic’s Grill has way more culture and more to spare for that matter.
I do not know why, but when we first got to Nic’s it felt like a real-life version of the “Hunger Games”, with people rushing inside to get their first, ordering what they wanted, and hopefully escaping the Oklahoma heat while they’re at it.
See Nic’s isn’t that big, to be frank, it’s the size of your grandma’s backyard shed. Only offering fifteen seats, maybe even less; Jeff, Peyton, and I were lucky to be at the back of the line and last to be able to find a seat, away from this Wonderful Oklahoma City weather in June.
We sadly didn’t see Nick, but the service was incredible, the way they operate is between 11 A.M. and 2 P.M., a small gap of time to catch a delectable bite to eat. But who am I to accredit this establishment? Nic’s Grill has been featured on “Guy Fieri”, and Jimmy Kimmel, and from what I’ve seen from Google reviews even Colin Farrell, a recent actor who played Penguin in “The Batman” said it was the best burger he had in his life!
History of Nic’s Grill
Nic’s official name is Justin Nicholas, he grew up loving onion burgers and decided he wanted to do what he loved like many people, but as usual, he wanted to do it better than the burgers he grew up eating. Instead of pressing onions into burger patties as hard as he could with a trowel traditionally, he pressed once, creating Oklahoma’s Juiciest onion burger. He believes it’s wrong to add the burger and onion together but keep them separate and grill them side by side, infusing a bun on top with the delicious taste from the grill.
Let’s give you the run down of what we were blessed with at Nic’s Grill:
The Menu is incredibly simple so that messing up someone’s order becomes virtually impossible.
Burger: everything (mustard, mayo lettuce, tomato, pickles, and grilled onions) no cheese
Curly Fries
Water
Price: $$$
The menu is only one page, either cheese or no cheese, with the additional choice of jalapeno peppers, eggs, mushrooms, or bacon on your burger.
The other guys had the same but with cheese, and I think Jeff had bacon and eggs on his.
The test for a good burger is when no one, and I mean no one in your party is talking, just eating. And boy did no one say a word after finishing their burger and fries whole, they even provide some seasoning to try your burger and fries with to make it even better.
